Simon C Jones FRICS

Chairman

Simon C Jones FRICS established the business in 1977. Over a period in excess of 40 years First Asset Finance Plc has developed a number of key relationships under his guidance and the business today has a well deserved reputation for delivering on its undertakings and mandates both in challenging as well as more favourable business environments. Simon qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1972 and spent a number of years in the commercial property market advising on large scale property financing and development finance before moving over into the broader spectrum of large ticket asset financing.

Martin Vodden FLD

Director

Martin Vodden FLD has some 30 years’ experience in asset finance having started his career with Lombard North Central PLC (part of Nat West Bank PLC) in 1986, during which time he obtained the FLD qualification with the FLA. Since joining First Asset Finance PLC in October 1996, he has worked with many blue chip clients structuring and funding various transactions and programmes. Martin’s experience incorporates credit assessment/enhancement; asset management; lease structuring and pricing; cross border and receivables financing, amongst other more traditional methods of financing.

Patrick Sherrington

Managing Director

Patrick Sherrington has over 20 years’ experience in Asset Finance. After graduating from Cardiff University with an Economics degree Patrick joined Lombard North Central plc the leasing and asset finance arm of Royal Bank of Scotland Group in 1996. Patrick subsequently joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2007 and was appointed Managing Director of Lloyds Bank Asset Finance in 2012. Patrick specialises in large ticket asset types across a wide range of structures, including cross border and operating lease transactions and has successfully worked with mid cap, commercial and institutional banking clients across a range of sectors. Outside work Patrick is a keen motorsport competitor and has won multiple championships both in the UK and Europe.  

Robert Taylor ACIB, FRSA, FLF

Commercial Director

Robert has worked in the asset finance and corporate banking sector for 30 years, including lengthy periods at Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Lombard and HSBC.  Recently his specialist area has been the growth and development of asset finance divisions. Prior to joining us in January 2018, Robert ran LHE Finance for Dawsongroup PLC, in which time he successfully repositioned and transitioned LHE from a Broker into a Funder with credit risk managed through capital markets. He is a Fellow of the Leasing Foundation, The Royal Society of Arts and also a Chartered Banker.  Robert is a Trustee of ‘Arts for All’, a Shoreditch based charity. He is a cycling and triathlon enthusiast, has completed one Iron Man challenge and planning his next.

Laura Gosshawk

Head of Administration

Laura Gosshawk has worked in the Asset Finance sector for over 10 years and has gained a wealth of knowledge through experience. Laura is responsible for overseeing all administration aspects of First Asset Finance Plc and First Asset Rentals Limited. She deals with Lessors and Lessees on a daily basis to ensure all documentation and finance agreements are arranged smoothly and professionally.Laura works closely with our customers from the inception of an agreement, dealing with any queries throughout its term and with the eventual expiry, including return, termination or disposal.Launching our software programme, DALIS, Laura continues to endeavour to find new ways to support our customer’s needs and requirements.

Emma Crawshay Jones

Office Manager

Emma joined First Asset Finance Plc in January 2015 and is in an intrinsic part of the team as we continue to grow. Having successfully managed the entire process of moving to new premises, Emma brings a wealth of experience with her and manages the office in a professional and positive manner building a good rapport with all customers and suppliers. She assists with the daily running of the business and is involved in all aspects, including invoicing, customer services queries, entertaining and marketing. Emma understands our customers' requirements and also liaises with the Lenders. Emma holds a BA in Photography from Arts University College Bournemouth and a Post Graduate diploma in Event Management , Marketing and Communications (Level 7).
